Wow. I am shocked and appalled to have to bring you this update. Not to mention the situation being acutely embarrassing and awkward as a staunch Leicester City supporter. However, as a writer who covers the Foxes, it is essential to cover every and all matters about the club. And, on this site, that includes the positives and the negatives as always.
Therefore, difficult as it is to report, some rather offensive and unforgivable chanting supposedly emerged from the LCFC away section at Carrow Road versus Norwich City. Unfortunately this news obviously somewhat subdues the desperately needed victory in Norfolk. Though condemning the unacceptable singning, via what is sure to be a minority of spectators from Leicestershire, must be done!
So, what type of songs were reportedly sang about City director of football Jon Rudkin and chairman Aiyawatt 'Khun Top' Srivaddhanaprabha? Can we repeat the words? Or was it too offensive to type, allowing us to just give an idea of what was said? Let's get into the story as the Foxes Trusts fan group slams apparent Rudkin death threats and xenophobic chants towards the owner.
Leicester City shame
Thankfully the vast majority of Leicester's Blue Army fan base would not, and do not, stand for this type of awful and, generally, illegal behaviour. The city prides itself on multiculturalism and diversity. There is no room for racism, violence or ostracising.
So what was called out at Norwich exactly, if repeatable? Essentially, Leicester Mercury report that offensive chants targeted Rudkin and Top specifically. A quote is underneath this paragraph:
"In the concourse and in the stands at Norwich, there were chants that represented death threats towards director of football Jon Rudkin, as well as songs targeting chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha that had undercurrents of xenophobia."Leicester Mercury
The songs were subsequently condemned by both the Foxes Trust and Leicester City Football Club via statements. Foxes of Leicester also supports those sentiments against any form of abuse.
As for what was said, I am aware. Let's just leave it as inexcusable xenophobia towards Top, and a shameful suggestion that Rudkin should be killed.
