Being down four goals to nil at Queens Park Rangers at only half-time is an absolutely unacceptable feat for a club like Leicester City. As a matter of fact, it would be questionable for any professional side of this ilk, standing and achievement to be losing by four anywhere in the country.
Incidentally, this rant is not intended as disrespect towards the Hoops either. Playing in West London can be challenging at the best of times, yet Saturday's outrage should be resigned to the past and never repeated! At least, City's Blue Army fan base hope this type of performance won't occur again.
"A familiar abject first half performance, where they conceded four times, condemned Leicester to another embarrassing defeat."Professor Robert Garner, FoL
Was the loss at his old side QPR the final nail in current manager Marti Cifuentes' proverbial coffin, as it were? I think that scenario would have definitely transpired if chairman Aiyawatt (Khun Top) Srivaddhanaprabha had any funds in order to fire Cifuentes and hire a different team boss. Yet his company, The King Power International Group, are said to be experiencing financial difficulty right now.
"Leicester City fell to a humiliating defeat at Queens Park Rangers, with the side having previously enjoyed three good performances. The result puts into question at least three players as well as whether Marti Cifuentes is right for the job."Elliot Mackness, FoL writer
Profit and Sustainability compliance might well be affecting that situation too. Therefore the Catalan could be kept on Filbert Way even if the powers-that-be don't actually want him anymore. Well played Leicester! But back to on-pitch activities - if we must - let's learn who the villains were as City were defeated in Shepherd's Bush.
These Leicester City players were absolutely annihilated by journalists in match reports as well as player ratings articles
"Stolarczyk 5, Pereira 5, Thomas 4, Vestergaard 4, Nelson 4, Skipp 6, James 3, Reid 5, Ayew 3, Mavididi 5, Fatawu 4"Filbert Way's ratings
Let's start with Leicester Mercury and the defence. Luke Thomas was the highest scorer with a '4'. Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk and his remaining back line scored 3s.
"Marti Cifuentes THRASHED 4-1 on return to QPR, says Leicester players let down fans"Fan Banter
Oliver Skipp wasn't the worst with 5; Jordan James must refind form as a consequence of a 4 attribution. Forwards Stephy Mavididi, Abdul Fatawu and Bobby De Cordova-Reid should take a long look at themselves with collective scores of 3. While it is fair to say that Jordan Ayew's 2 is unforgivable.
"Leicester City produced an “unacceptable” first half at QPR that highlighted the rampant inconsistency that threatens to harm their season."Leicester Mercury
