We have two fairly interesting pieces of information for Leicester City's Blue Army fan base to devour on this beautiful Sunday summer afternoon. First of all, it's a transfer rumour; the hearsay concerns a player just released by one of LCFC's Midlands rivals.
The Foxes are said to be targeting former Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo. In addition to looking at what Toffolo might perhaps offer the King Power side, we unfortunately have confirmed injury news from Filbert Way. And this possible problem could effect another outgoing, but probably not in the way you would have expected.
Foxes injury confirmation
Leicester welcomed their sister club, Oud-Heverlee Leuven (commonly referred to as OHL), to Sileby's Seagrave Training Ground at the weekend. The Foxes were 2-1 victors in the friendly clash.
Though these very early preseason fixtures are not really about the result, they more concern fitness, blending and acclimatisation. Of course, playing well could get a Fox in the starting team next season.
So something is on the line in these kick abouts, so to speak. However, injuries are also a potential negative side effect of competing in even non-competitive clashes.
Sadly for Victor Kristiansen, he was reported injured and 'limped out of the game'. Obviously City are looking to wisely offload the definitely overrated Dane. Though this news could scupper a prospective replacement.
Leicester City are reportedly eyeing a free transfer move for ex-Nottingham Forest man Harry Toffolo
While we don't wish any harm on anybody, and hope Kristiansen is alright, his exit is best for LCFC. And replacing him with a backup like Toffolo would be an upgrade in my view. The latter's determination, pace and classy left-foot will do for us.
"It’s reported that a swoop will only come if Kristiansen departs. The Dane, who limped out of Saturday’s pre-season friendly win over OH Leuven, joined Italian side Bologna on loan the last time City were relegated."Leicester Mercury
Plus, the 29-year-old is available for no fee, making a deal even better. Although, Rangers and Norwich City would also like to find an agreement.
