If you are a level-headed and pretty well-informed Leicester City fan, you'll know that it is almost impossible for the Foxes to spend any money at the moment. I won't dwell on all of City's problems, financial and otherwise at the moment, became frankly it is beginning to become depressing for a loyal member of the Blue Army.

However, the issues can be explained briefly as the ownership's finances being in disarray, that in turn means no decent signings, problems on the pitch with a seemingly incapable English Football League Championship-level manager and squad. Not to mention the supposed (6-12) point punishment awaiting the unlucky and now hapless East Midlands team.

Aiyawatt (Khun Top) Srivaddhanaprabha, the owner, didn't even ensure players, management, backroom employees and general staff were paid before Christmas arrived. They had been previously and were only informed a day before, it is claimed. A true disaster. Unforgivable.

So New Year acquisitions are almost the last thing on the fan base's collective minds at present. Money (which probably doesn't exist) certainly won't be spent. Nevertheless, the LCFC powers-that-be do wish to complete a loan or two. A free transfer here and there wouldn't be a bad thing either, judging by our strength and overall form.

Leicester City are tipped to sign Sunderland's Eliezer Mayenda on loan - but Foxes supporters shouldn't hold their breath

We would love an injection of quality, pace and composure in front of goal. Although, if you watched Leicester's calamitous first half at Queens Park Rangers, you would likely advocate signing defenders after that atrocious and ludicrous display. Irrespective, a versatile forward has been recommended to City recruitment.

Football League World suggest that LCFC should approach the Black Cats for the out of favour Mayenda. The 20-year-old would be perfect for Leicester right now to be fair, yet this isn't a direct link:

"With Daka away with Zambia for AFCON and Ayew the only other option, a loan move for Mayenda would inject youth, power, and pace into the attack, and stay within their transfer constraints, giving head coach Marti Cifuentes another option up top."
