Back in the spring, just before the end of the 2024/25 season in which Leicester City Football Club were successively relegated from the Premier League over two years, the Foxes were connected with a possible signing. You're probably thinking, 'well, yeah, LCFC are perennially linked with a plethora of potential additions'. And you'd be right.
However, this acquisition would have seemingly been a positive and advancing deal for the Foxes to have completed. They didn't; yet now the rumour has started up again. Or, at least, City have been told or tipped to relight their fire for a particularly well-proven Championship forward.
What's the problem?!
What has been the East Midlands outfit's most significant and harmful issue in the current campaign under Marti Cifuentes? That's right: scoring goals.
According to the LCFC head coach, the team creates adequate opportunities to score. Although, statically, Cifuentes was actually proven wrong in that respect.
In addition to that, midfielder Harry Winks claims that making chances has been one or our difficulties for over a year now. So it was a problem prior to the former Queens Park Rangers man's arrival.
Leicester City transfer connection to Norwich City attacker Josh Sargent won't go away
As I previously mentioned, Sargent was said to be on the King Power transfer wishlist, or shortlist, a while back. As a matter of fact, I can recall his name being associated with a possible move to LE2 over at least two consecutive summers. But not with significant journalists.
Back in May of this year, Football League World claimed the United States Men's National Team representative was available to an interested Leicester at a price of between £10m-15 million.
The same outlet suggested LCFC go for Sargent over the next few months. And, once again, his name is being spoken of in connection with the Leicestershire club again. This time a former Foxes trainee seemingly reignited speculation elsewhere:
"They need a Josh Sargent-type striker who knows the division and guarantees goals, but let’s be honest – that sort of player will cost you a bundle of money. Can they afford to go out and buy one in January? "Guy Branston, via The72
