There haven't been a whole lot of transfer rumours concerning Leicester City Football Club over the past few weeks. We had a few before that, and there are always some 'tipped to' articles that emerge as well. Those are more akin to 'suggestion' types of pieces to be honest: where a certain player is designated as a good hypothetical signing for a specific team.
Although here are a few names of footballers who are said to be connected with a move to Leicestershire; before I cover Christian Benteke chatter. First of all, Amara Keita; he's been on trial at Stamford Bridge, or Cobham Training Centre, with Chelsea. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace was a previous apparent target of the King Power outfit.
Anton Salétros of Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer is another supposedly wanted man on Filbert Way. International baller Jeremy Sarmiento is an Ecuadorian who plays for adopted side Cremonese in Serie A. That's whilst he is temporary loaned from English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
Are Leicester City linked with a potentially shock move for centre forward Christian Benteke?
OK, this was a fairly random one for a Wednesday morning in early December! Benteke will be released from the MLS's DC United in January; making him a possible option for teams in England.
Regardless of his advanced sporting age of 35 (a veteran stage in a top professional's career), the striker is expected to be in demand with EFL Championship organisations. Benteke has been with the Americans for three-and-a-half years. But now that this tenure is coming to an end - speculation begins.
However, while 60 goal involvements in 100 games in North America is great - it doesn't mean he could still cut it in the United Kingdom! Besides, the rumours appear to be mere recommendation at present:
"With an impending points deduction coming their way, they have been forced to stay strict over their transfer expenditure, not signing a player on a permanent deal for a fee this summer, and with Benteke becoming a free agent, he would stay in line with their current transfer policy and offer an alternative to their current misfiring options."FLW
