The City faithful were not too keen on Gary Rowett - especially after witnessed his arguably lacklustre style and imitation game in process. The ex-Stoke City, Millwall and Oxford United head coach, also a former Foxes player, is expected to depart LE2 following an almost irritating win against Blackburn Rovers on the final day of a disastrous EFL Championship season. By no means are City's myriad issues laid at Rowett's door - he just did little to help alleviate the situation.

On Leicester's City list

LCFC supporters are similarly unkeen on the prospect of lesser-known Dutch head coach Dick Schreuder arriving at King Power Stadium. Although he has completed similar work to what is required in the Netherlands, he is somewhat of an unknown quantity in England.

Neither did the son of Sir Alex Ferguson whip Foxes fans into a frenzy. Quite the opposite, in fact. A few in the City support noted that Darren Ferguson is, infuriatingly, the level or seemingly of appropriate capability for the contemporary LCFC.

But which other bosses are connected with a shot at the Filbert Way organisation's hot seat?

On the bookies' list

The search for a successor now gravitates toward more industrious, technically minded figures. Michael Skubala has emerged as more a compelling candidate (10/1), fresh from a transformative stint at Lincoln City where he proved his mettle in the lower divisions. Skubala is highlighted for his rising reputation and modern coaching methods.

"Ralph Hasenhuttl
8/1"
Glasgow World

In the Glasgow World report, furthermore, the possibility of Alan Sheehan (12/1) has been whispered, representing a sentimental yet practical choice. He's a one-time Fox with a growing reputation on the touchline. The potential to serve as a unifying figure during an period of profound uncertainty appear notable.

"Kevin Muscat
14/1"

Russell Martin is reportedly the most prominent remaining option (5/1), noted for his dogmatic adherence to a possession-oriented philosophy. Yet this outlet knows for a fact that he'd be an unpopular choice, even in the lower leagues.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
16/1"
