LCFC supporters were hoping for a few significant transfers to occur. That could be in reference to either outgoing or incoming players. However, only one possibly not too important acquisition has occurred. Woyo Coulibaly may turn out to be exceptional. Although it was mentioned by van Nistelrooy that the Frenchman would have a mere backup role.

Regardless, one new defender without a big reputation probably can't save an entire team. The boss at King Power Stadium actually informed us all that funding is in place. Though that promise may have been a smoke screen amidst ongoing Profit and Sustainability issues. Yet, with media claiming City will have two cash injections, are further vital signings now expected in the east Midlands?

Foxes areas of interest

Foxes of Leicester are actually working on a new piece to more thoroughly and thoughtfully examine the City squad at present. We will publish that one tomorrow. But I can briefly outline the parts of the pitch which are lacking at Leicester

The goalkeepers are fine. Mads Hermansen is a very good stopper overall and he can kick it. The defence is so flawed I wouldn't know where to begin. Midfield: okay. Wingers: good. Albeit we could do with another goalscorer.

Signings are now expected at Leicester City amid two cash injections

Recurring or perennial PSR problems are apparently holding the Foxes down. Even Leicester's chairman Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha reportedly (good source) told the squad that funds are minimal.

So tight is the King Power purse, supposedly, they couldn't afford to hire another manager. Or Financial Fair Play matters won't allow it. That means van Nistelrooy is here to stay for at least the entirety of the current campaign.

Will the ex-Manchester United star get his wish for some additions to the team? Maybe. After Coulibaly, it was claimed only loans in would transpire. But recent reporting hints at a chance for further acquisitions:

"Leicester City have taken out a bank loan in a move that could signal a push for January transfers"
Leicestershire Live
"The loan forward [Tom Cannon] bagged 11 goals for the Potters before being recalled by parent club Leicester City last week, and now seems destined to join Sheffield United in a reported £10m deal."
