There is not much good news around for Leicester City's Blue Army fan base at present. Although supporters have been in this awkward situation already this season, genuine hope still exists that the Foxes can begin to gain some momentum in the English Football League Championship. However, as indicated, that optimistm was evident and consequently abruptly taken away prior on multiple occasions during the 2025/26 term, as the XI capitulated.
Regarding supposed and very evident problems at King Power Stadium right now, there are several! First of all, City bosses are said to be at a hearing concerning possible Profit and Sustainability breaches at the moment. That case could unfortunately lead to points being withdrawn and will obviously affect their position in the division table.
Second of all, some members of the Leicester faithful were looking forward to (or expecting) promising, young defensive midfielder Sammy Braybrooke to return to Filbert Way. After some amazing performances and his attacking ability even being exhibited at Newport County, a few observers understandably wanted Braybrooke in and around the City first team.
And lastly for today's (Tuesday, January 13) piece, the LCFC board are said to have stopped an outgoing transfer from transpiring in the East Midlands. However, and naturally, on occasion those decisions can be a blessing in disguise for teams. So what exactly is happening in LE2 this week?
Leicester City have another point deduction worry to contend with
City could have six-twelve points taken away at any time this season. That is a constant worry. Here is further cause for concern:
"Why could Leicester be facing new points deduction blow?Football Insider 24/7
The Foxes were under the Premier League’s jurisdiction last season, meaning they seemingly also had to submit their accounts by 31 December. Football Insider previously revealed Leicester would be close to breaching the PSR rules in 2024-25 due to their historic financial issues.
Leicester’s losses dropped from £90m in 2022-23 to £19m in 2023-24, with last season’s results all important in their bid to avoid another breach."
Why many Foxes fans disagree with follow-up loan
For argument's sake, if Braybrooke did come back he could play with Oliver Skipp and allow Jordan James to advance. So why did the 21-year-old choose another temporary switch instead?:
"There was that talk about going to a higher league, but I looked at it from a point of I just want to play football really and I want to go to a team that suits me, that I'll fit in straight away.Leicester Mercury
"I didn't want to adapt my game to change, and that's what you want when you're a loan player. You want to just go straight in because you can run out of time. You could go four games without playing and then that's a month and you've only got three months left, so you want to fit in straight away. I feel like it's (Chesterfield) the right fit for that."
Fox's transfer blocked by King Power powers-that-be
Caleb Okoli is supposedly not for sale, and is a part of Marti Cifuentes' plans:
"According to Sky Sports reported Gianluca Di Marzio, the Foxes have made it clear that the 24-year-old centre-back is not for sale during this window, despite the player’s fluctuating minutes in the Championship this season."Caught Offside
