Unless a brilliant manager has compiled an almost flawless starting lineup with unlimited funds and minimal injuries, they must innovate and be creative. Leicester City Football Club will never have the luxury Pep Guardiola has at Manchester City. Nor do the King Power club have the avant-garde organisation of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, or that of Arsène Wenger years before at Highbury and Emirates Stadium.

Therefore, most football teams that have ever been in existence are constantly evolving. Works in progress. Perennially unfinished. That is certainly the case regarding the contemporary Foxes side. Under latest head coach Marti Cifuentes, the XI looks different again. Though the Catalan boss was given literally zero funds to invest.

However, a few (actually generally impressive and surprising) loans and one free transfer gave Cifuentes the absolute bare minimum to create and progress with. LCFC youths were set to be promoted to the senior roster; few joined the group in reality. In addition to that, the 43-year-old has used quite a few underwhelming and out of favour City personnel as well.

As a matter of fact, some players Leicester fans didn't really want to see again are probably going to make up Cifuentes' new XI.

Formerly undesirable Foxes could make foundation of next Leicester City lineup

A developing side is seldom finished, we've established that. This offers chances to certain athletes who were underused or valued. Bobby De Cordova-Reid is in that category.

The former Fulham man is likely to play as the No.10 for several reasons now: Aaron Ramsey's absence, solid performances and the opportunity to deploy the exceptional Jordan James at No.8.

Should Ben Nelson and/or Caleb Okoli be unavailable through injury, the less valued Wout Faes or Luke Thomas will be promoted. If Thomas fails again we have the equally unpalatable option of Victor Kristiansen.

We may also see the continued questionable 'revival' of Jannik Vestergaard. Patson Daka, who is nearing one year without a goal for club or country, is also set to start; with the apparent statistics to support involvement:

"Patson Daka has not scored for Leicester City in 38 games, a run that goes back to December last year, but that doesn't mean he's not the club's most effective forward... But the paradox at City is that, despite the above [failure to covert chances over the period], Daka may well be their best striker.

He’s quicker and more energetic than Jordan Ayew and Julian Carranza and so is able to press more effectively, flustering opposition defenders and goalkeepers. That not only wins possession back for City, but pushes them up the pitch.

His movement and runs into the box also create space for those behind him"
