We have further significant Leicester City transfer news to report on Friday evening. With the window shutting very soon, can the Foxes get another attacking deal over the line? Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard is wanted on Filbert Way, but will LCFC get their man in time? The Blue Army won't want another tense and ridiculous Adrien Silva situation on their hands.

Yet there is an update that will certainly please fans in the east Midlands, when hopefully confirmed. An important player linked with a move away from King Power Stadium is apparently now staying in Leicestershire. Information which is vital to the team and manager Steve Cooper. But which star has chosen to remain a Fox?

Odsonne Edouard of Crystal Palace fancied by Foxes

Edouard is a centre forward whom Foxes of Leicester have previously advocated as a hypothetical signing. His name has been mentioned in the LCFC sphere prior to this latest eleventh hour connection.

You can probably tell by my tone that I am not too optimistic of an agreement being found between the Foxes and the English capital side at such a late stage. Although, as mentioned, Edouard is the type of proven goalscorer desperately needed to provide help to the ageing but crucial Jamie Vardy.

Daily Mail reporter Sami Mokbel claims Italian outfit Atalanta and EPL club Ipswich Town are in the race to land the Eagle. However, and thankfully for the Foxes, Leicester have "moved ahead" in the chase for Edouard's signature.

The Frenchman scores goals in this most elite of challenging world divisions. He is seemingly out of favour with his boss and down the pecking order at Palace. Therefore it is a wonder, as well as annoying for the City faithful, that a serious pursuit of Edouard wasn't undertaken earlier in the summer.

Wout Faes to stay at Leicester City?

Leicester's defence is far from secure at the start of the season. Although they managed a draw at the King Power when facing a very threatening Tottenham Hotspur team, fragility is evident.

Maybe stalwart centre back Conor Coady or new signing Caleb Okoli will come into the lineup for stability. Or there could even be a change in formation to allow for one of the aforementioned defenders to be incorporated in a three-man set-up.

Irrespective of that possibility, it appears that Faes will stay. Recent rumours of a possible exit did concern the Leicester support, of course.
