A Leicester City legend has now announced his unsurprising retirement. The player's boots have been hung up after a great career at LCFC. Marc Albrighton should be in Leicester's Hall of Fame. But what did the former Foxes winger say upon quitting for good?

Meanwhile a Premier League striker is said to have wanted to join the King Power outfit this summer. Unfortunately David Datro Fofana plays for the off-field mess that is Chelsea Football Club. This view, coupled with the feeling that City's Jon Rudkin is a tough negotiator, surely ensured that an agreement went missing. But the east Midlanders clearly require more firepower up front. Is the Blues forward the right man for the job?

There is also talk of a senior midfielder exiting Filbert Way. Boubakary Soumare never really found his way in the English top-flight with Leicester. Will the Frenchman, who has much to offer, now attempt to revive his flailing career with another team? Ligue 1 side Monaco, from his homeland, are monitoring the now 25-year-old. Is Soumare worth keeping or offloading?

Boubakary Soumare finally leaving Leicester City?

To answer my own question: yes, it probably is time for Leicester to part ways with Soumare. Will he leave in this window? That eventuality would be best for both parties at this stage.

Although talented, Soumare has struggled to get to grips with elite football in England, to be fair. He could certainly revitalise himself by moving, especially if he chooses to go to France.

City are reportedly 'open' to allowing the former Paris Saint-Germain youth to depart. The aim at the King Power is to 'trim' the LCFC roster. And Soumare has many potential suitors, if we trust reports.

Lyon and Galatasaray are in the race for the midfielder. Yet it is Monaco who are in talks and leading the pack, according to speculation. In fact, competition to land Soumare is apparently 'fierce'. I guess that he'll be gone by Friday night.

Chelsea's David Datro Fofana wanted Foxes switch

I have previously declared Datro Fofana a natural goalscorer. And he did do some damage in the EPL when loaned to Burnley in 2023/24. However, a move to Leicestershire has not materialised. Below is the reason why:

"If Fofana had his way, he would probably be at Leicester with Steve Cooper right now after being left out of Enzo Maresca‘s group.

According to LondonWorld, Leicester were in talks with Chelsea about signing Fofana and the striker was keen on a move there.

However, as per the same outlet, the two clubs were unable to agree a fee, leaving the 21-year-old stuck at Cobham for now."

Marc Albrighton retires

Best of luck to Albrighton from all at Foxes of Leicester. Here is part of what the ex-Fox said when retiring:

"To the fans of Aston Villa and Leicester City, I am forever grateful for your unwavering support. Your passion and dedication made every moment on the pitch that much more special. At Villa, you embraced me as one of your own, and at Leicester, you created an atmosphere that drove us to achieve the impossible.

Thank you for standing by me through it all, you made my time at both clubs unforgettable. As I close this chapter, I do so with a full heart, thankful for the unforgettable memories, and excited for what the future holds."
