Leicester player REVEALS feeling in the Foxes squad right now
Thanks to Leicester City defender Conor Coady, Foxes of Leicester discuss what's being said in the Foxes squad right now. Not to mention the feelings of the LCFC team at the moment. FoL also take a look at the upcoming must-win match against West Bromwich Albion as the Championship heads towards culmination. Stick with your No.1 opinion site for the King Power side!
If you or I were Leicester players, hypothetically, maybe we would be overly nervous at this testing stage of the campaign. Some might even find the situation totally overwhelming, mentally and physically. Though, the elite professionals who make up the Foxes roster have often been there and done it; they can handle immense pressure and criticism, in the flesh or online. Obviously they are paid and compensated heavily to that end.
Some LCFC stars and up-and-coming personnel might perhaps have been in even more pressured situations than the one the east Midlands club find themselves in at present. Other top pros can just handle or deal with stresses. A few of these upper echelon athletes just don't feel any burden to perform and are totally focused.
Well, Enzo Maresca is definitely going to need those cool, nonchalant and consummate footballers to get Leicester over the line and back into Premier League limelight. I would say that there is actually an amazing balance of youthful exuberance and shrewd experience in the contemporary Leicester team in order to achieve the aspiration at hand.
The entire Blue Army and staff of the King Power outfit want the same thing: promotion. Even though I know for a fact that some of the Foxes faithful have enjoyed travelling around the country to the stadia of the English second tier which they haven't seen before, or for years. However, these loyal LCFC fans have suffered in recent times, in spite of a great overall campaign.
The highs have turned to paradoxical table-topping lows. How peculiar. Although, despite his tactical obstinacy, Maresca will probably lead the Foxes back to the EPL with automatic ascendancy. But how are the players feeling presently? Let's see what Coady revealed:
"Whether I should or I shouldn’t do it, I look at the other results. You’re hoping they’ve lost if you’ve won to gain a bit of ground or bridge a gap.
The last couple of weeks with Leicester, we’ve had a tough time. We’ve spoken as a team over the past week in terms of the results we’ve had. Because we can’t concentrate on anybody else, we can’t affect what anybody else is doing, so we’ve looked at ourselves and said: ‘It’s us and that’s it.’
We focus on ourselves. That’s how we believe we’ve got to be. When you get to the end of the season, you’re within touching distance of what you’re desperate for and what you’ve worked all season for.
But I’d be silly if I sat here now and said I don’t look at any results. It’s the first thing you do. You can have managers or people around you telling you not to check on it. But it’s the first thing you do.
When they’re on the telly, you watch them and you’re praying they drop points. It’s a natural thing to do. But you’ve got to curb it and make sure you’re doing your job when it comes to training and playing."
Leicester City vs West Bromwich Albion
Playing West Bromwich Albion won't be easy, regardless of City's home advantage on Saturday. The Baggies are on for a playoff place and will want that spot confirmed.
So how have recent fixtures concluded between the two sides? Well, the Foxes have won four out of five; there was one draw during that period. Looking good!
