There has been a major transfer claim this weekend concerning east Midlands side Leicester City. And the suggestion links directly to the supposedly looming points deduction saga. The Foxes must balance their finances, as we all know. But that can mean lesser signings, as evident when surveying the inconsequential additions this summer. The new faces may not be adequate in helping secure LCFC's Premier League survival.

More importantly, there could feasibly be another high profile exit on Filbert Way, just like with standout midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. So which stars are Leicester City prepared or likely to sell? And will any more acquisitions occur in Leicestershire before the window shuts? On that topic, who is King Power transfer target Bilal El Khannouss?

Leicester City in discussions over possible signing

I must admit that I am not overly familiar with Morocco international El Khannouss, so let's take a brief dive into what type of player he is. Along with getting The Pride of London's assessment of the likelihood of a deal being done and his suitability.

First of all, the attacking midfielder plays for Genk in Belgium. You may remember that Leicester did a great bit of business for Wilfred Ndidi with the fifth-placed Belgian Pro League outfit once upon a time. The Foxes are probably still attempting to replicate the template of Dewsbury-Hall.

However, City's initial bid for El Khannouss was rejected, according to a report from Sport Witness. Nevertheless, the Filbert Way team have not been deterred. After being informed of the valuation of the 20-year-old, they are now said to be negotiating further with Koninklijke Racing Club Genk (their full name).

El Khannouss is known to have many admirers among Premier League clubs, which is always a feather in the cap of athletes in lesser European divisions. That sentiment especially applies when those potential suitors are Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

LCFC aim to beat their English top-flight rivals to the signature here. Yet, as previously mentioned, the apparent '€15 million' offer was insufficient even when including a reported €5m in potential bonus incentives. From what I have learned and seen, El Khannouss would fit the intelligent No.8 role. Whether he can succeed in the testing EPL is, as ever, unknown.

Which Foxes star will be sold?

The below statement is concerning:

"They [LCFC] have sold players in this window, and you’d think another big sale would be coming. That would be the only reason I would think of for them going ahead and sanctioning the Skipp deal.

You’ve got to give the manager the squad to try and stay in the Premier League. Survival is the minimum for them. They’d rather have the resources and the budget to fight these points deductions in the top league.

Skipp is a good signing for them who will get stuck in, but I think they know there will be another sale to drop in the final days of the window. That will be pretty far down the road, I would’ve thought."
