Let's be real, the Leicester City Football Club Academy has produced some wonderful footballers over the years. Yet few would be described as on that ridiculously good level of Barcelona or Real Madrid. Maybe one or two; Jamie Vardy would have scored many, many goals for either of those superclubs in his prime if given the opportunity. Though the hypothetical scenario is hard to imagine.
In fact, only two people turned up in my search for players who have represented both LCFC and los Blancos, as well as LCFC and Barca. First of all, magical midfielder Esteban Cambiasso featured for Real and the King Power side. In addition to that, retired England National Team representative Gary Lineker played for both City and Camp Nou outfit.
So a precedence is, technically, there for a transfer between the two. Though direct business between Leicester and/or Real or Barca doesn't ever appear to have occurred. Nevertheless, the Santiago Bernabeu side are said to be eyeing up a Foxes starlet to pursue. And the Fox could potentially be used to replace the possibly departing Vinícius Júnior. What's being claimed at the moment? What do we make of it all? And what is the liklihood of a signing eventually taking place?
Real Madrid target outstanding Leicester City prospect Jeremy Monga as possible Vinícius Júnior replacement before he becomes too expensive
A few impressive elements can be noted of soon-to-be prized LCFC asset Jeremy Monga. Firstly, his ability is through the roof. He is already breaking Premier League and C'ship records at the age of 16 (15 in an EPL sense). Evidently his value will soon skyrocket.
On account of his pedigree and promise, Monga is apparently wanted by clubs as huge and influential as Manchester City. But enormous foreign teams want reportedly want to sign the winger too:
"The Intertwined Futures of Vinícius and Monga
The equation is simple: Vinícius Júnior’s future at the Bernabéu may open the door for Monga’s arrival. If a blockbuster offer for the Brazilian materialises – whether from Europe or Saudi Arabia – Real Madrid already have a prodigy lined up to inherit the left flank.
For now, it remains speculation. Yet the parallels with past Madrid moves are striking, and Jeremy Monga’s name is already being whispered around Valdebebas as the next great project."
