Leicester City haven't made any signings yet during the offseason, much to the chagrin of Foxes fans. Things are looking up for the East Midlanders at present, thanks to a breath of fresh air in the form of Marti Cifuentes. But if the Catalan isn't given funds and a say on recruitment, the situation will seem grim at King Power Stadium once again! Acquiring a new striker is definitely the main objective for LCFC as we see it here.

Leeds United centre forward Patrick Bamford has just been told he won't be involved at Elland Road in the Premier League this season. Therefore a talented and experienced attacker is up for grabs. Are there currently any rumours of Leicester targeting Leeds' player? And is Bamford a signing we would endorse?

Jamie Vardy has sadly exited City. Meanwhile loanee Odsonne Edouard left Filbert Way for his parent club Crystal Palace. That leaves Patson Daka as the only recognised senior striker; and he's fairly impotent in front of goal. So LCFC must sign another gifted, specialist goalscorer.

Do rumours of Leicester City targeting Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford actually exist - if not, they probably should?!

I was previously an admirer of Bamford, I must admit. Although my preference is always what's best for Leicester. Therefore I'd typically crunch the numbers, statistically. Along with analysing his benefits and drawbacks, not to mention assessing the Foxes' prerequisite.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, we need to learn if any speculation links the Englishman with Leicester. No. At the moment, the only credible site seemingly mentioned the team and footballer together is Football League World.

FLW are currently only suggesting that LCFC should consider moving for Bamford. Blackburn Rovers, Wrexham, Portsmouth, Genoa, Middlesbrough and Southampton are supposedly interested.

"Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford may well be considered as a potential Jamie Vardy replacement by Leicester City, but some big concerns could derail any potential move."

Is the 31-year-old worthy of an approach? Ability-wise, yes. However, his immobility and injury-prone ways, coupled with hefty wages, are unattractive.
