Leicester City used to be a Premier League staple, for the most part, before dropping down to League One at the close of the 2025/26 season.
Indeed, between 2014 and 2023, the Foxes were in and around the promised land for nine straight seasons, with the 2015/16 campaign, of course, ending in the unbelievable ecstasy of a Premier League title lift.
Since then, it had been largely yo-yoing between the top-flight and the Championship for the Midlands titans, until the unfortunate reality of back-to-back relegations slapped them in the face.
Strangely, the most memorable campaign Leicester has experienced in recent memory wasn't during their Premier League hayday after Claudio Ranieri turned them into champions.
Instead, it was under Enzo Maresca, who was another Italian success in the King Power dug out, who helped the Foxes hit 97 points and become second tier winners at the close of the 2023/24 season.
Leicester won promotion that season despite Daniel Farke's Leeds United boasting the likes of Crysencio Summerville, who was one of the league's most vibrant performers, despite missing out on a path up to the Premier League.

With a mammoth 31 wins next to their name come the end of the 46-game marathon, Leicester would finish at the top of the congested tree.
Leeds would have to make do with 90 points, and third spot, with promotion slipping out of their grasp during a playoff final which saw Russell Martin - who is now at the Foxes helm - guide Southampton to the big time, over Farke's unlucky Whites.

Despite this agony for the West Yorkshire giants obviously hurting, they would look back on the near-miss season with some fondness for Summerville's explosive exploits.
Indeed, he would collect a striking 19 goals and nine assists from 43 league contests, with the Dutchman going on to win the division's Player Of The Year accolade at the EFL awards.
Ex-Leeds striker Ross McCormack would go as far as to note that Summerville was "terrifying" defences all season long, as the 24-year-old then went on to win himself a move to West Ham United, after it had been confirmed the Whites had missed out on promotion.
He hasn't lost his sparkle since, with eight goals and seven assists for the Hammers in the top-flight now seeing him become a £68m-level talent.

That is the steep amount Al-Hilal are reportedly willing to pay the land the seven-time Netherlands international, with a bumper deal agreed between the Saudi club and the Hammers on Tuesday.
It's crazy how fast things can change in the beautiful game, as Leicester once battled alongside a team who boasted Summerville in their ranks, and won the promotion race.
Now, they're stuck in League One, while their former second tier foe dreams of the riches he will earn in the Middle East.
Everyone associated with Martin's men will pray they can get back to the Premier League in time, but for now, they have to lick their wounds and hope they can break out the stifling environment of League One, with a winger of Summerville's tricky qualities perhaps a summer signing they need, as Abdul Fatawu has gone.
Of course, they won't be able to throw together £68m, as more savvy transfer dealings are required at the King Power, away from Al-Hilal's endless spending powers.
