A complete overhaul is scheduled at King Power Stadium this summer; the Leicester City ownership and board must cease their idle watching of the World Cup and get cracking!
There is no time to waste. Although, at least a manager, in the polarising Russell Martin, was eventually hired to steer the ship. Though, as implied, the Blue Army are not thoroughly pleased with that appointment.
First on Martin's list is to speak with his superiors regarding which particular Foxes are up for sale, and who is possibly going to stay at LCFC. Only then can the former MK Dons, Swansea City, Southampton and Rangers head coach decide what is needed recruitment-wise.
Funds will be tight unless the East Midlands outfit can raise capital from selling certain assets. Among them are Ben Nelson, Abdul Fatawu and Jeremy Monga. The former, an LE2 Academy product and England youth centre back of some repute, is certainly somebody who could raise more money than some may be expecting.
That is because (while Nelson exhibits partial Premier League potential) he struggled at times in the EFL Championship, albeit amidst an overall poor selection of teammates. Yet his skill set (aerially competent at both ends, possessing a tough tackle and displaying effortless composure on the ball) actually suits a higher division, paradoxically.
Ben Nelson's Leicester City appraisal
Being an Englishman and homegrown works in Leicester's favour dramatically with respect to any forthcoming transfer: it represents pure profit. Though City fans may well feel simultaneously annoyed and satisfied that a promising athlete is leaving; doing so for decent money remains a necessity.
In addition to that, having a potential bidding war on their hands is always a huge plus point for any club. Nelson could eventually be sold for north of £6 million, should reporting on his future ultimately become proven.
Of course, the fee may transpire at a lower figure, considering Leicester's financial problems facilitate a desperate need to trade. Yet the teams mentioned, specifically Manchester United and Chelsea, are notoriously wild with their spending; Torino won't match them.

The Blues, people will recall, shelled out an exorbitant price for particularly immature ex-Leicester defender Wesley Fofana. United also spent a literally ridiculous amount on a rather immobile Harry Maguire from the Foxes.
So there is a precedent to get a good price, as it were. Nelson will likely fetch less than those historic figures, but his departure acts as a vital release valve to help City balance the books and reinvest.

Finally, Daily Mail Sport's Simon Jones has confirmed that the West London club are actively monitoring Nelson. If he stays in Leicestershire, however, that option would also suit Martin's preferred style of playing out from the back.
