If, like me, you follow Leicester City events closely, you'll notice that an article appeared today stating that Foxes manager Marti Cifuentes is closing in on his best starting XI. While, to some extent, this is a true statement and the LCFC head coach is closer to the most effective lineup, a few vital roles are yet to be cemented.

For example, we have an absolute conundrum of a front line. At least two positions there are up for grabs. However, I would say that seven or even eight of City's current starters are nailed-on to begin games, so to speak. I will run you through the spots that have been strengthened, when applicable, as well as solidified by new or existing Leicester stars.

Yet, ultimately, the former Queens Park Rangers gaffer doesn't yet know what the ideal set-up or roster is exactly at the moment. This has to be said: in order for the Blue Army fan base to receive the true reflection of the state of affairs on Filbert Way. But when will Cifuentes know the correct XI? I can explain.

Why Marti Cifuentes doesn't know his best Leicester City starting XI and when he will

Essentially, four positions in the LCFC side are not solved: left back, one No.No.8/10, left wing and striker. Cifuentes has done wonderfully to designate the other places, which are as follows right now:

Jakub Stolarczyk, Wout Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, Ricardo Pereira, Harry Winks Jordan James, Abdul Fatawu.

Beginning at left back, Luke Thomas appeared favoured. Although a couple of undesirable performances opened the door for a returning Victor Kristiansen. The No.10 role is yet to be assigned. Aaron Ramsey could well be the man for the job.

Jeremy Monga and Stephy Mavididi may fight it out on the wing all season long. Meanwhile the three centre forwards must actually begin scoring. That feat will secure one of Julian Carranza, Jordan Ayew or Patson Daka the central role.
