We try to understand why Leicester City Football Club bosses are ignoring team manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. The LCFC board apparently won't even speak to van the former Manchester United man. This is an opinion piece looking at the situation from both angles. What's next at King Power Stadium?

Why Leicester City board won't even speak to van Nistelrooy

The transfer market has been open for a few days now - and Leicester City Football Club has done nothing to improve its squad yet. Zilch. Zero signings. At least some of the so-called deadwood was removed from the roster.

Nevertheless with questionable and unforeseeable management circumstances, as well as Profit and Sustainability parameters to adhere to, the Foxes are not really in any position to attract quality players.

Though City may struggle to do that anyway due to being a mess of an outfit at the moment, not to mention their lower division status again. Furthermore are the aforementioned financial issues.

Over the past month since the Premier League was active, Leicester manager van Nistelrooy has subtly complained on more than one occasion. The seeming issue is that the LCFC ownership and directors won't actually talk to him.

The Dutchman, well-known for his excellent playing career at Manchester United, is seemingly totally in the dark on his Foxes future. And, according to van Nistelrooy, he has requested discussions about next season multiple times.

To some of us at Foxes of Leicester, this is a disrespectful and inadvisable way to run a club. That sentiment and rule should especially apply to the teams lucky enough to find themselves privileged in elite leagues, etcetera.

It also looks as though Leicester bosses are deliberately and rudely ignoring the 48-year-old. Could the financial implications behind changing a 'premium' head coach be LCFC's rationale here? RvN wants assurances from the club; yet Foxes chiefs arguably don't want to deter him anymore than he already is.

Essentially, the Foxes powers-that-be appear to be leaving RvN hanging. And I think they are doing so for one reason: they might need him this season if all alternative avenues close.
