Preview: Leicester City Vs Brighton and Hove Albion
A heartbreaking seven-goal thriller now well and truly behind Leicester City, they take on Brighton and Hove Albion in their first home game of the season. Can the upbeat Foxes open their account for the season? Or will the Seagulls produce something special at the King Power Stadium?
Leicester City
It’s a game that Leicester City have got to see as their best chance to get the first win of the Premier League season – and why not? If the performance against Arsenal is anything to go by, then Craig Shakespeare’s side won’t be easy to defend against, and definitely not for Brighton, who are fresh from a grim display against Manchester City.
Of course, the Foxes are not defensive geniuses themselves either, but against a newly promoted team that barely managed to see 21% of the ball the other week, they’ll back themselves to put on a show that’s worthy of a victory.
Man to watch
We picked Jamie Vardy as the man to look out for last week, and that hasn’t changed after he scored an excellent brace against Arsenal.
Quotes
"“In terms of the performance against Arsenal, his team-mates helped him, but he’s looked smart. The start of the season is the most important, but we need a fit, healthy and dynamic Jamie Vardy,” Craig Shakespeare told Lcfc.com."
Predicted XI
Schmeichel; Simpson, Maguire, Morgan, Fuchs; Ndidi, James, Albrighton, Mahrez; Vardy, Okazaki.
Brighton and Hove Albion
Leicester may be the overwhelming favourites, but Brighton and Hove Albion can derive a lot of confidence from their opponents’ atrocious defending against the Gunners in the 4-3 defeat last week, which is what their obvious weakness is.

The East Midlands outfit are no Manchester City in any description, so it’s going to be a completely different game for Chris Hughton’s spirited Albion. If they can manage to be disciplined, organised and retain their shape for the better part of 90 minutes, Leicester City can always be exploited.
Man to watch
The top scorer from their promotion-winning campaign, Glenn Murray. Now fully fit and ready to be the goal machine he was last season, Brighton and Hove Albion will look up to him.
Quotes
"“Not only from our games, we’re looking at the other games. Burnley going to Chelsea and getting a win, albeit they were down to ten men early in the game,” Chris Hughton was quoted as saying by Brightonandhovealbion.com.“We will learn from every game we can, but mostly, of course, we’ll learn from our own games and one thing that was very evident was the quality that Manchester City have."
Predicted XI
Ryan; Saltor, Duffy, Dunk, Suttner; Knockaert, Stephens, Propper, Murphy; Murray, Gross.
