Chance for silverware gone begging

Despite Puel claiming he had no regrets regarding his team selection post match, the Foxes have missed out on a great opportunity to win a trophy.

Cup competitions are designed for clubs like Leicester City, they are meant to bring some added entertainment to teams who have nothing to compete for domestically.

While it can be argued City are on the hunt for a Europa League spot but, why not just save the time and hassle of the league and enjoy the thrills of Wembley Stadium.

The decision to field seven fringe players has cost Leicester. With all the respect in the world, does Aleksandar Dragovic look up to scratch.

His immobility looked a burden on Harry Maguire’s shoulders, Andy King looked non-existent in the middle and even the much attained Marc Albrighton looked out of sorts.
