Leicester City will be giving 60 free season tickets for the next season as part of chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s birthday celebrations.

The Foxes’ chairman turns 60 this Wednesday, and he therefore plans to treat the Foxes faithful to a bagful of season tickets for the 2018/19 campaign.

The winners will be selected on a random basis, with four of those to be announced on Saturday during the half-time of Leicester City’s game against Newcastle United, and the rest 56 to be informed via e-mails in the following days.

An official club statement said:

"“It’s a journey that would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the Leicester City fans.“The chairman will show his gratitude for that togetherness as part of his birthday celebrations by rewarding 60 current season ticket holders with a free renewal for 2018-19.”"

In an era when owners are completely inconsiderate towards the fans’ interests, for Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha to show such gratitude and care is worth more than a mere applause.

At one hand, we have owners like Arsenal’s Stan Kroenke, who has no respect among the Gunners’ fanbase because of reasons that are pretty obvious, and then we have the Leicester City chief, who is respected and loved by those in and around the club.

Srivaddhanaprabha hasn’t only formed a fine relationship with the club’s faithful but also helped the club form a relationship with sustenance and success.

Having bought the club back in 2010, he has overseen a complete transition both on and off the pitch, with Leicester City winning the Championship in 2014 before defying all the odds to win the Premier League title in 2015/16, and making it to the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League a year later in their first ever appearance in the competition. The financial development is there for all to see, too.
