After an all-around shambolic performance against Bournemouth last weekend, Leicester City need to make multiple changes to the Starting XI.

For Claude Puel’s side, a home win against Huddersfield Town is much-needed, especially after a demoralizing 4-2 defeat on the south coast. For the purpose of this article, City will line up in a 3-5-2:

Goalkeeper: Kasper Schmeichel

Schmeichel is only one of a few names that has earned his place on the team sheet, week in and week out. Easily one of Leicester’s most consistent performers this campaign. His steady hands and strong leadership of the back line are essential to City’s success this season.

Central Defence (left to right): Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Daniel Amartey

Maguire is one of Leicester’s best players at the moment. Even after Puel’s comments that he might be rested for the game, I still believe he will start. With the criticism the Frenchman took over the past week he needs his best defender available for selection, and to put his poor performance behind him. England’s stalwart needs a strong showing against Huddersfield this weekend, to raise his confidence, and to put the media at bay.

Evans deserves a chance in the starting lineup after poor performances by, now suspended, City captain, Wes Morgan. Evans is another who needs to put in a strong performance this weekend. With a challenging outing against Huddersfield, Evans can force himself into the starting lineup on a more consistent basis, as well as form a strong partnership with Maguire.

Before criticizing Amartey’s inclusion over new signing Soyuncu, lets look at some positives. Amartey recently captained his national team Ghana during the recent international break. However, instead of playing right back, he played center-back, which he often does for Ghana – performing well. If Puel can find one consistent position to field Amartey, he could still become a solid contributor for Leicester City; and that position should be centre-back. If given his chance by Puel, Amartey could potentially make a statement this weekend with a strong showing.
