A former England captain and Premier League all-time leading goalscorer says a Leicester City playmaker will receive his senior International call-up soon.

Foxes of Leicester knew there was something special about James Maddison on arrival at the King Power Stadium. It was evidently plain when viewing his highlight reel, in addition to knowing he has the highest transfer fee for a Championship player. Then came his excellent exploits while debuting for Leicester City at Manchester United’s Old Trafford.

Since then, the former Norwich player has three goals and one assist. He is on the verge of setting the premiership ‘alight’! Maddison has commendations and compliments from all quarters of the footballing spectrum.

Opta provide us with statistical analysis on the 21-year-old.

One of Leicester City’s playmaker’s admirers is one time England skipper, and joint sixth all time goalscorer, Alan Shearer.

Premier League‘s official Twitter account showcased the article containing Shearer’s positive comments on the King Power footballer. Shearer says, of the starlet:

"It was another fine performance and another goal.“If he keeps on going like this it’s only a matter of time before he gets a full England cap.”– Alan Shearer (Via: Premier League)"

Along with a nod for a swift international level promotion, the Match of the Day pundit chose the one time Aberdeen loanee as his No.10 in his top-flight team of the week.

Also included in the side is Ben Chilwell. Chilwell is now becoming a premiership favourite and a player thought to be rivaling Luke Shaw, amongst others, for the Three Lions’ left-back position.

Newcastle’s talisman said he believes: “This has been a great month for the 21-year-old. He made his England debut and was impressive again here.”

High praise from outstanding ex-players is always welcome. However, it is more intriguing and incisive when a, sometimes stoic, personality like Shearer states it. He is not the kind to produce filler material like other well-known ‘experts’ on television; preferring to discover and fairly analyse potential greatness.

Being at a club like Leicester City and playing every game already makes them special and privileged athletes. Going one further to become a national fixture, is a big deal. Hopefully, Maddison can transfer his form to England and transform into Gareth Southgate’s nucleus too.
