Leicester City attained three big points at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park on Saturday, in the Premier League. This is how players and club reacted, with a bit of extra for you:

A penalty from Jamie Vardy and a header by Harry Maguire via a James Maddison corner confirmed the win for Leicester City against Newcastle United in the Premier League.

That made three wins in a week for Claude Puel, after his Foxes dispatched Huddersfield Town, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup. How did his players react to the latest victory?

“A goal in each half seals a deserved win away at Newcastle!”, says lcfc.com.

It is plainly obvious from the match day stats that Leicester City enjoyed a great afternoon and accomplished a well-merited success.

"“I think it was a fantastic performance, a fantastic collective performance for us.”– Claude Puel (Via: lcfc.com)"

French gaffer Puel, believes that the win against Newcastle was Harry Maguire’s best display in a Leicester City shirt this campaign. Maguire’s statistics on the day backup the manager’s opinion: 66 passes, six aerial challenges won, one goal stopping block, two interceptions, four shots, one goal and a 9.04/10 WhoScored rating. Thanks to @naPUELeon for looking up the stats.

However, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez thought the Magpies scored the first goal they could have had the result. Whereas, it was plainly obvious to most watching that Leicester City deserved the win and were in control throughout.

A very good morning to you too, Leicester City!

James Maddison is ‘on fire’ since joining the East Midlands side this summer. Expect his inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s upcoming England squad, as well as a senior debut.

In case you missed it: Leicester City drew Everton or Southampton in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round.

Now it’s time to check out the Leicester City players’ reactions from St James’ Park.

Maguire is always articulate and candid during post match interviews.

Ricardo Pereira is back in the starting line-up and making progress more forward in the layout.

Kasper Schmeichel honouring the ‘slabheaded one’.

A clean sheet and a win was vital for Puel to consolidate his position at the King Power Stadium. Job done.

An overjoyed Maguire.

In addition, the former Sheffield United player was still happy when awake the following day.

Vicente Iborra is playing his usual silky football and is close to being named from the beginning in the team, he is seemingly way ahead of Adrien Silva in the roster.

Cheers, Wilf.

A very considered assessment.

Wolves, or Foxes, at the door.

A top finish from Marc Albrighton in the warmup.

Next. England ready for LCFC's James Maddison. dark

Next up for Leicester City in the Premier League is Everton at the King Power, Puel will certainly aim for yet another three points in the march to seventh place in the table.
