Ambitions are high at Leicester City. In accordance with the Foxes’ hunt for silverware comes a need for top-notch facilities. Hence the granting of planning permission for a futuristic, state of the art training ground.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha is an honoured man at Leicester city and the county at large. He never wanted to simply maintain the club’s Premier League status; the aim was win the competition – which they did in 2015/16 – along with other cups.

Srivaddhanaprabha and son, Aiyawatt, vice-chairman at the King Power Stadium, has invested big in the team and the area. Philanthropy is also a trademark in various degrees.

Project

In accordance with the will to win silverware, comes the responsibility – not just to pay large transfer fees or hire and fire managers – but to build a worldwide franchise and invest in the development and maintenance of their expensive commodities. In other words, utilise the players in the highest standards possible.

Therefore, a plan was in place over a couple of years to construct a futuristic, modern, state of the art training complex. In fact, the practice ground will be the “most advanced in Europe“, which is a quote from a Leicester City spokesperson, via LCFC Live.

The Leicester City specialists go on to say:

"“[Leicester City] secured planning permission to turn a 185 acre golf and fishing complex off the A46, eight miles north of Leicester, into a sprawling £100 million complex where the first team squad will practice.“Members of Charnwood Borough Council’s planning committee met in Loughborough tonight to debate the Foxes’ plans to relocate from their current training base at Aylestone in the city.“After a two-hour and 20 minute discussion they voted by eight to four to approve the ambitious project.”"

Fundamentally, it is impossible to ignore investing and indulgence of the squad in this capacity. The beloved game is always moving forward, evolving and advancing; a continuous state of flux.

Not to mention the shrewd business-style approach by even richer clubs to catch: such as Manchester City, as well as Chelsea. An all-in-one area designated for, and dedicated to, growth and progression at the East Midlands club is a necessity.

Details of the new compound:

"• A covered show pitch with 499 seats, spectator toilets and an elevated camera platform• 12 full size football pitches• Six part-size size grass pitches• Two goalkeeper areas• One attacking area• Five warm-up and technical training areas• A sports hall• Hydrotherapy, medical, rehabilitation and dining facilities.• 30 bedrooms for the players and management• 421 parking spaces“It will also have education facilities and offices, and be the first sports turf academy in the country to train groundsmen.”All information via: ITV.com"

Whereas the Foxes’ owners will be shelling out millions to build their new priming centre, the global brand had a 5 per cent increase; easing the financial burden.

Claude Puel will attempt to ensure he is in the managerial driver’s seat at Leicester City when the facility is complete. This is the plan of a club with foresight and ambition; a real ‘feather in the cap‘ for all involved in at Leicester City.
