This week, Sky Sports released their power rankings for the best performing Premier League players at present. Which Leicester City players are named and how did they make the list:

In the last week, Leicester City won all three of their games – including a penalty victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup. Yet, it is the Premier League which gave entry to three Foxes for the Sky Sports Power Rankings.

James Maddison, Harry Maguire and Wilfred Ndidi are the chosen ones from the King Power Stadium. In fact, the ‘In-Form Chart’s’ top-five contains Maddison and Maguire, at fourth and fifth positions respectively. They are directly behind Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard and Gylfi Sigurdsson, impressively.

Manchester City and England’s Sterling leads the in form premiership players, according to Sky Sports. While, Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi is in 48th place. The 21-year-old is established in the league as an effective tackler.

The media outlet compiles its list by using:

"“Methodology [that] reflects a player’s performance by awarding points for 34 different stats.Below, we present the in-form chart based on performances over the past five Premier League matchdays [with greater weight placed on recent games], your club’s top points scorer and the season accumulative chart.”"

In addition: “The Sky Sports Power Rankings update every week during the season, so be sure to keep an eye on the big movers…”

Maddison leads the way for the Foxes, with a score of 7,641. Three goals as well as two assists this season made the No.10 a fans’ favourite.

Harry Maguire also makes EA Sports’ FIFA 19 ‘Team of the Week’. Maddison and Maguire are generally thought to be among Leicester City’s best and most valuable players. There will no doubt be some high transfer fees offered for the duo come January, or more likely, this summer.

Although, the Foxes’ owners are reluctant to retain the moniker of a ‘selling club, refusing to bow to pressure to sell their squad’s most desirable.

However, Manchester City’s enormous bid for Riyad Mahrez was correctly accepted, for two reasons; one: it was a fair price at the time, if not favourable to the East Midlands side. And secondly: the winger wanted out and could cause extra discord within the ranks.

For the entire season, the former Norwich playmaker also charts highest, with a campaign total of 15,472. He is in fourth place, sandwiched between Sadio Mane and Sterling. Harry Maguire is 4th, completing Leicester City’s overall entrants.

Much was written of Maguire’s quality over the last year, at club and, successfully, International level. Maddison is tipped by fans, pundits, former players and football writers to receive an England call-up on Thursday.
