Claudio Ranieri and Fulham will raid Leicester City for some champions

It is extremely likely that new Fulham boss and former Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri, will raid the Foxes for some players. Especially if he can secure a few of his champions.

Claudio Ranieri is still much-loved at Leicester City, despite being relieved of duty for a poor league showing in his second season. Although, he did put the club on the path to their Champions League quarterfinals appearance; Craig Shakespeare guided the Foxes after the Italian’s departure. Yet, it is Ranieri’s Premier League title as manager which keeps him in the Blue Army’s hearts.

After leaving Leicester City, the 67-year-old took charge of Nantes in France. He left the Ligue 1 side at the end of his first campaign as boss. This was subsequent to a disappointing league points tally, ultimately; as explained further by Daily Mail.

Consequently, the Roman was unemployed; enter struggling Fulham – who find themselves at the foot of the premiership – who appointed Ranieri as manager, Friday. Whilst simultaneously sacking predecessor, Slavisa Jokanovic.

While Leicester City fans wish their once beloved gaffer all the best, a typical Premier League moment of fate occurred – as the two teams meet one another on December 5. That will be the former Italy international’s third game in charge in West London; anticipate a fiercely fought, yet, respectful clash.

Out-in-the-cold at Leicester City

There are some champions at Leicester City, once under Ranieri’s tutelage, who are out-in-the-cold. They include Andy King and Danny Simpson. King is not even in the 25-man Premier League squad; while Simpson is on the league roster.

If called upon, Leicester’s executives will allow King to move;he is obviously not in Claude Puel’s plans whatsoever. A sale will be permitted but a loan is more probable. It could revive the Welshman’s exemplary career. Remember how incredibly well he fitted in, and performed, at Swansea last term? Excellently, indeed.

Jean Michael Seri could absolutely do with goalscoring assistance in the middle. Which also leads to the belief that forgotten man Adrien Silva is on the Fulham radar. If there is a creativity deficiency in midfield, he could be the man to influence the team to a higher performance level.

However, Simpson had his disgruntled moments while playing for Ranieri. According to the Independent: “A number of reports claimed Ranieri lost the confidence of his dressing room in his last few weeks at the club, with Simpson appearing to confirm that some of the squad grew particularly frustrated when the Italian began micro-managing their diets.”

About chicken burger-gate, the former Manchester United player said this:

"“After games, we would have chicken burgers and potato wedges and he [Ranieri] then changed them to sweet potatoes and pasta.“I understand his point but the lads liked what we were used to, chicken and wedges.”"

Of course, these differences in opinion make a reunion unlikely. However, there is apparent respect between the two. The real reason the right-back will remain at the King Power Stadium is because of Dan Amartey’s injury. Simpson is needed as an understudy to Ricardo Pereira.

Out-of-form/favour

Do not expect Christian Fuchs to be loaned, he is needed as the only other recognised left-back, along with Chilwell. Left-sided defender Callum Elder was not named in the Premier League squad. Therefore, Elder may be a good incoming transfer option for Ranieri. Last season the Australian impressed immensely on loan at Wigan; a triumph over Manchester City under his belt in 2017/18. Not to mention being rather unfortunate at Leicester City; possibly due to Chilwell’s meteoric rise.

Due to Ranieri’s good standing with the East Midlands club, and great relationship, there is a strong possibility he will attempt to lure other Foxes to London. None of the main, general 18 member match-day squad will relocate but existing peripheral players may.

Fousseni Diabate could be one who temps the Whites; rated highly in France, yet failing to initially impress at the Foxes and well down the pecking order. However, defence is the most in need area for improvement at Craven Cottage. Forwards, wing and goalkeeper are their most highly rated performers.

Jonny Evans would be a surprise move for the Cottagers. Whereas, at the moment he is the third choice centre-back – should Caglar Soyuncu elevate to a starter, it would relegate Wes Morgan to the bench. This would make Evans the fourth selection in the middle of defence. Thus, he may seek playing time elsewhere in the new year. Especially if Filip Benkovic returns from his much-lauded spell at Celtic in Scotland.

However, Ranieri stated recently that he never ‘brings back old players’. Leicester City’s next match is versus Brighton Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium, Falmer, on November 24. Foxes of Leicester wish ‘Uncle Claudio’ in his fresh venture.
