Leicester City supporters are still being treated by late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha
Even after his untimely death, the tradition of generosity from Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha to Leicester City supporters continues.
Leicester City supporters will receive another free gift at the upcoming away game against Brighton & Hove Albion, in the long and loved generous tradition of late chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. It is a truly wonderful deed by the club and the expected chairman going forward, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha – or Top – to carry on the legacy of his dear father. From someone who has benefited from the incredible generosity personally – thank you.
Khun Vichai was synonymous with kind gestures. The gifts planned for the Cardiff City match in Wales went ahead with extra memorial t-shirts and the original token breakfast, despite the owner’s tragic passing. In Leicester City’s recent history, the fans were delighted to take scarves home; as they did in the first home game versus Burnley since the disaster.
There were lovely, tasty and beautifully decorated individual cakes for Mr chairman’s birthday. In addition to beer, or water for children and the non-alcoholic drinkers; amongst other gifts. This endeared him to the entire faithful.
In contradiction to the cynical view of the scenario by the Financial Times, as: “clientelism to win over fans” – contrastingly, and tellingly, Khun Vichai was a philanthropist across the board: giving at least £4 million minimum to hospitals and Leicester charities. Proving his love and affection for the club and city. Of course, it is a favourable business move to make for obvious reasons but the sentiment is valid and heart felt.
A helicopter crash took the life of the beloved ‘boss’, along with four others. They include two assistants of the Thai business leader, the pilot and his partner.
