Claude Puel ridicules unlucky gamblers: Leicester City news
Don’t bet against him! Claude Puel hits back at gamblers speculating on his Leicester City demise with a fairly savage quip at his latest press conference:
At any point in time, the next Premier League to lose his job is constantly a widely discussed topic, even during off-season. Claude Puel has been on most neutrals, pundits and bookmakers’ lists as a probable recipient of the sack this term; however, the Leicester City boss is defiant.

Despite his Foxes sitting in 8th place in the top-flight, these are the odds for the Leicester manager to be next premiership chief to be relieved of duty in ‘the sack race’:

Yet the Frenchman believes he is safe, saying he needs not Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha’s public support. In fact, this quote from the gaffer to his detractors is quite biting:
"“It’s a common thread in all press conferences. I cannot manage this speculation.“It’s often we have a lot of bets about my future. A lot of people made these bets and they have lost a lot of money. I hope this situation continues.”– Claude Puel on gamblers losing money speculating on his Leicester City demise(Via: Leicester Mercury)"
Essentially Puel is laughing directly at negative press speculation, as well as at these losing money gambling with his departure as other managers fall around him. We have been saying for a few months now since he ‘lampooned’ Manchester United over their failed Harry Maguire bid that he has a good sense of humour, it’s just subtle.
It is obvious Puel does not resent those betting on his Leicester downfall; and as such, they probably don’t hate him. Just opportunists looking for a quick buck and failing with an incorrect assessment, at present.
