Daniel Amartey is reportedly a transfer target of a Premier League side, Leicester City should take the money and run.

Daniel Amartey sure is a likeable guy: he has strong faith, a smile on his face most of the time and is a jovial part of the Leicester City squad. But the Foxes should sell him if they receive a fair bid for the defender.

Yes, you always need squad depth especially at elite level; peripheral players who can come into the side usually following injury or suspension and do a decent job. Amartey, as a utility player by definition, can play two main roles in the team: defensive centre-midfield and right-back.

In fact the Ghanaian has also been used as a makeshift centre-back, too. Although that didn’t go too well. At right-back there is the phenomenal Ricardo Pereira, who isn’t being dropped for anyone. And if he is moved to an advanced right-sided position, there is the rapid James Justin to replace him – a far superior and modern full-back in comparison to Amartey.

There are Wilfried Ndidi, Papy Mendy and Hamza Choudhury all vying for the DCM capacity. Therefore there is no chance of Amartey breaching those favoured players’ respective standings. "Sheffield United are reportedly lining up a move for versatile Leicester City star Daniel Amartey. According to Football Insider, the newly-promoted Premier League outfit are plotting to make a move for the 24-year-old midfielder or right-back. It is also being reported that Blades boss Chris Wilder is looking for a defensive-minded midfielder who can also operate in the back line, and Amartey fits the bill.Via: Leicester Mercury"

More from Transfer Rumors

This off-season the Blades, now a Premier League side, have made several signings, including: Oliver McBurnie, Lys Mousset, Callum Robinson, Luke Freeman, Phil Jagielka and Ravel Morrison.

There are young players emerging at King Power who may even elevate themselves in the not to distant future. Not to mention the more Amartey sits on the bench the more his value decreases.
