Leicester City have agreed terms with Real Betis’ Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho, according to Spanish press. But is the transfer happening?

Leicester City transfer rumours are accelerating and will continue to do so all the way through the summer. Oh joy. Don’t worry, I won’t let you down: at the end of the window of opportunity, Foxes of Leicester will roundup all of the hearsay to pinpoint – from a number approaching 100 supposed links – which ones were absolute rubbish and which clearly had concrete information.

This way in January/next June, we’ll all have a better way to gauge. However, be prepared to keep hearing the gossip for a good while, as the current moves are set to be allowed until October.

Are Leicester City signing William Carvalho?

LeicestershireLive published an article on Tuesday stating that frequently linked William Carvalho is not going to sign for the Foxes imminently. This is despite Spanish media claiming the Portugal international is switching to Leicester.

The absolute u-turn from manager Brendan Rodgers over Papy Mendy may be why Leicester won’t buy the 28-year-old defensive-midfield man. Though, according to the outlet, the Filbert Way club is not interested anyway.

AS Monaco released Leicester City outcasts Adrien Silva and Islam Slimani from their loans this week. Because neither player is part of the 25-man Premier League squad, they are not expected to return. I wouldn’t expect the King Power outfit to sign another Portuguese midfielder until Silva is sold, at the minimum, which adds to the reasons why Carvalho won’t be joining.
