The clubs monitoring Leicester striker Islam Slimani are no surprise
Unwanted Fox Islam Slimani will apparently return to Leicester City for pre-season training when this campaign ends. Although, he is wanted by these clubs.
Leicester City meet Chelsea on Sunday, as the FA Cup moves into quarter-final territory. Frank Lampard’s team will rate their chances of defeating the Foxes as due to being bang in form. Meanwhile, over on Filbert Way things haven’t gone according to plan since returning to Premier League competition.
Leicester City Transfer rumours
In other Leicester news, Islam Slimani and Adrien Silva have been released from their respective loans at AS Monaco. Although neither will feature for Brendan Rodgers in the English top-flight in 2019/20, because they are not on the club’s 25-man squad list.
Slimani in particular was sensational for Monaco this term as a loanee: providing 16 direct goal involvements in only 19 appearances in France. Wow.
Therefore it is no surprise that some big European sides are said to be monitoring the Algeria international. Those teams are also fairly predictable: the target man is only going to remain at a certain level, as I see it.
Leicester Mercury carry a story from Algerian media claiming that Slimani is wanted by Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon, as well as French team Marseille.
Elsewhere at the King Power club 10 movements have been undertaken, with eight of the personnel leaving and two staying. Those departing are: George Thomas, Viktor Johansson, Conor Tee, Ryan Loft, Rhys Davies, Ed Elewa-Ikpakwu, Justen Kranthove and the Sultan of Brunei’s nephew Faiq Bolkiah. The players being retained are Sam Hughes along with Josh Eppiah, who extended their deal.
