Leicester City boss hopeful of making PL player first summer signing
The transfer market is open, but Leicester City haven’t made any signings yet. Although manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping to secure Liverpool’s Adam Lallana.
When recently asked about his plans for the transfer window, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers was particularly candid. He divulged the information that his recruitment department is looking for attacking options, as well as saying they’ll only bring the correct type of player in.
Additionally, the Northern Irishman said that he prefers working with a tight roster or a smaller squad. Presumably this causes less issues for the boss with regards to roles like understudies etcetera. Not to mention the fact that there is then much more space and scope to include or promote youth players to the senior ranks.
A forward-thinking midfielder whom the Foxes have been linked with a move for, is Liverpool’s soon-to-be out-of-contract and departing Adam Lallana. Rodgers had a great working relationship with the player he signed for the Reds originally.
Leicester City hopeful of Adam Lallana deal
Daily Star suggests Leicester City are closing in on a ‘clear path’ to obtaining the Englishman’s signature. However, a host of other clubs allegedly desire the services of the 32-year-old. Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he’ll only use the apparently injured Lallana out of necessity.
The article also affirms that the £100,000-a-week plus wages of the former Southampton man won’t be an issue for the King Power outfit. European football will surely help persuade Lallana to rejoin Rodgers, this time on Filbert Way.
