Twist makes Luka Jovic signing for Leicester more likely
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Leicester City are in the market for new attacking options this summer, will Luka Jovic be one?
I’m sure you’ve heard one of the latest Leicester City transfer rumours, especially considering it concerns Spanish giants Real Madrid. Their Serbian striker Luka Jovic hasn’t quite made the grade this term with Los Blancos. Meaning, realistically, moving to the level of the King Power side would suit him in theory.
Many national media outlets have quoted the story which originated with Daily Star; some have added to the hearsay with their own takes or source information. Apparently Zinedine Zidane considers the 22-year-old surplus to requirements, and they would listen to bids upwards of £30 million.
Twist makes Leicester City signing Luka Jovic more likely
Brendan Rodgers – who recently told reporters that the East Midlanders want more attacking options – believes the Serb needs a ‘change of scenery’, as per Daily Mail. After signing for £52m then subsequently only netting twice in 25 appearances – Foxes of Leicester concur with the Northern Irishman.
The Mail also suggests Jovic would be a strike partner for Jamie Vardy, as opposed to a rival, understudy or initially a successor. That is regardless of most fans being aware of the fact that Rodgers doesn’t favour two-forwards systems. Yet the player does fit the stature of the usual hitmen playing under the gaffer.
Despite his shortcomings at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Jovic was excellent for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. He could potentially replicate that form and combine at Leicester City well with the iconic Foxes No.9.
