Contrary to reports, Leicester will not sign midfielder
Regardless of what you may have heard in media speculation, a credible source claims Leicester City are not to sign William Carvalho imminently.
The central midfield role is an area in which Leicester City have an abundance of talent, options and prospects. In fact, the Foxes already have too many choices there so you can bet on one or two being sold or loaned in the coming months.
One man whom is vital for the East Midlands side to retain, is Nigerian powerhouse Wilfred Ndidi. Ndidi is a unique commodity in the defensive–midfield capacity; the Blue Army thought they’d seen it all following the efforts of the French enigma that is N’golo Kante.
Yet Ndidi has managed to do what nobody believed realistic: make Kante seem not quite as standalone on an echelon that is unattainable. If Ndidi adds goals to his game and increases his passing range and success percentage, he’ll be as influential as Patrick Viera, Emmanuel Petit or Yaya Toure. With as much silverware.
Understudies to the 23-year-old include: Hamza Choudhury, Papy Mendy and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Therefore adequate cover is represented.
There’s only one reason Leicester City would sign William Carvalho
Only if the former Genk player is sold – which Foxes of Leicester don’t expect this year – will the Foxes surely even consider signing William Carvalho from Real Betis. It’s not that the athlete wouldn’t be a good addition to the squad or the Premier League generally, he’s simply unneeded.
Unless the King Power outfit has agreed to sell Mendy, Choudhury and loan Dewsbury-Hall, Carvalho’s arrival is unlikely. Especially as Leicestershire Live states that the Foxes “will not pursue” the Portuguese international.
