During Brendan Rodgers’ pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, the Leicester City boss stated clearly that left-back Ben Chilwell is not for sale.

With 19-year-old left-back Luke Thomas’ performance for Leicester City in the Sheffield United victory, Ben Chilwell’s place in the Foxes starting eleven is absolutely unsafe – trust me!

Regardless of the latter being an England international; Thomas will definitely replicate the senior national team feat at some stage, too. To be fair, he’s already appeared for the Three Lions’ Under-18 and U19 sides, so the Syston, Leicestershire-born player is well on the way to glory.

Against United, Thomas was a revelation for City following a disappointing showings from the classy but underperforming Chilwell. The latest Development Squad graduate to become a star Fox achieved these fine statistics from a wingback position: one assist; four aerial duels won; three key passes; one successful dribble; and five clearances.

A simply marvelous showing for such a youthful man making his debut in the Premier League. Breaking up play was another great contribution from Thomas. In time and with increased muscle, he will become a great tackler as well, I’m sure.

Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell is not for sale

We’ve all read the rumours that Chilwell is wanted by Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United. Well, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says his defender is not for sale. That is despite the display from Thomas. Maybe it’s time to cash in on Chilwell – if he’s not playing next season his value will decrease.

Hot. Potential injury disaster for LCFC. light

Tottenham Hotspur are Leicester City’s upcoming opponents in the English top-flight. Spurs have uneven form and tactics under boss Jose Mourinho – but they are not to be underestimated! This will be a hard-fought three points for the Foxes to obtain; preferably, they’ll attempt to do this by any means necessary to assist the Champions League cause.
