Most Leicester City fans would concur that the club really needs to invest in a marquee striker to help with Jamie Vardy’s workload. Is Vedat Muriqi the right man?

It appears Leicester City are close to doing some excellent business this transfer window. Trust me, I’m usually the most critical of poor Foxes dealings – yet this off-season I’m quietly confident.

With regards to wingers, David Brooks is an excellent prospect as a left-footed, right-winger. Exactly what is needed, and, as of Friday, strongly linked to the East Midlanders as their “top target”. Manchester United will fight for his signature, according to reports.

Another apparent transfer option for Leicester is international midfielder and
Schalke player, Weston McKennie. McKennie can also play in defence, therefore versatility makes him more attractive.

Leicester City need another marquee striker

With Jamie Vardy now aged-33 and his 34th birthday in January, Leicester City bosses and supporters must face facts: he isn’t going to play forever, sadly! In fact, he will only be the King Power side’s main man for another couple of years.

Yes, the Golden Boot winner had an amazing campaign, even comparatively with previous wonderful efforts. But signing another marquee attacker is now an imperative task for the Foxes.

This is why I question if Vedat Muriqi, a Fenerbahce forward Leicester are thought to be monitoring, is the correct man for the job. His statistics are very good; although those goals and assists come in Turkey’s Super Lig. Man United along with Tottenham Hotspur are tracking the striker, per certain media outlets.
