There is always a risk of losing some of your best players, even for footballing superpowers. Leicester City may not be able to retain this starter.

It’s true, not even champions Liverpool are immune from losing players, let alone a club like Leicester City. Albeit the draw of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona isn’t what it once was, sides such as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich still entice. Along with some like Atalanta, RB Leipzig and Olympique Lyonnais emerging as powers to challenge the established teams.

Obviously the Foxes have always been viewed as an easy challenge with regards to larger outfits securing the former’s most talented personnel. Although during the more competent, occasionally illustrious Srivaddhanaprabha family ownership, rivals and ‘big six’ entities now have to pay way over the odds.

I mean, Manchester United’s Harry Maguire is a great centre-half, no question. But recently he’s seemed labored and sloppier than ever; £80 million now seems an incredible price. Would he actually get into Leicester’s team presently, with the at times exquisite pairing of Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans? Maybe; nevertheless, the duo’s performances overall had the Blue Army pretty much chanting, “Harry who?!”.

Having said that, Evans possibly gave the most disappointing displays overall after the restart – and that goes for any individual Fox. The Northern Irish international gave the ball away cheaply, misread scenarios, was at fault for goals and his red card was a disgrace! Which is all in stark contrast to his usual consummate professionalism.

TRANSFER RUMOURS. Foxes eye up UCL defender. light

Despite this, Evans is an integral part of the team and top-flight veteran. A rumour published on Sunday stated many clubs are interested in the defender. With his deal expiring in under a year, a new contract must be on the horizon to deter admirers.
