Leicester City are possibly worried about losing longtime goalkeeper and on pitch captain, Kasper Schmeichel, because the Foxes are chasing a Spanish stopper.

Another school of thought which may apply to the Kasper Schmeichel leaving Leicester City story, is that the Foxes hierarchy are not concerned about the ‘keeper’s possible departure.

One reason for that would be the four or five consecutive managers attempting to improve the Dane’s feet. Or at least they tried to impart the knowledge necessary for him to generally see where to distribute the ball: safely for his team and dangerously for opposition.

Overall that proposition has been an absolute disaster. Yes, Schmeichel more often now finds a colleague with a kicked pass. But the majority of his kicks go straight out of play or to the opposition. What’s more upsetting and relentless about this issue is that there is always a free team-mate in a simple position to find and consequently apply pressure to the opponents.

Latest Leicester City transfer rumours

According to Mirror, Brendan Rodgers’ side have identified Sergio Rico as a potential replacement if Schmeichel joins Manchester United or Chelsea. Rico is on loan at Paris Saint-Germain currently, although he is a Sevilla player. And the Spaniard’s contract expires in 2021, meaning a deal can be struck.

TRANSFER NEWS. Leicester still haven’t bid for Dwight McNeil. light

Most Premier League enthusiasts would expect Leicester fans to be devastated over the potential loss of the Danish international. After all, he unfathomably triumphed against all odds to lift the premiership trophy with City. But all things come to an end. Maybe it’s best for the King Power club to go in a more modern direction.
