Following months of speculation regarding the future of Ben Chilwell, the Leicester City full-back could finally get his move.

It was reported yesterday that Manchester United had joined Chelsea in the race for Chilwell, despite Leicester City’s large asking fee.

With the Foxes slapping an £80 million price tag on their academy graduate’s head – a similar price the fee received from the Red Devils for Harry Maguire last summer – it looks like Chilwell will be heading to Stamford Bridge.

Has Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell packed his bags?

According to trustworthy sources, Chilwell packed his belongings up from the Belvoir Drive training complex ahead of a transfer being agreed. With the club set to return to training ahead of the start of next season, the transfer could be finalised before.

Chilwell has impressed at the club since he was recalled from his loan spell at Huddersfield Town, before making his Premier League debut in the 2-0 home defeat to Everton on Boxing Day in 2016.

Since then, the England-international has been involved in the squad, eventually overtaking Christian Fuchs as first-choice left-back. This season, under Brendan Rodgers, the 23-year-old improved as the campaign progressed.

However, certain performances have caused Leicester fans to question the ability of Chilwell, despite the apparent interest from two top-four clubs. With Chelsea originally declining to meet City’s valuation, Frank Lampard’s side looks to have finally improved their backline.
