For anyone that is wondering about the rumour of Dwight McNeil’s impending move to Leicester City, on Friday The Athletic addressed the speculation.

A great winger with a sweet left-foot is much coveted by Leicester City fans. Hopefully Brendan Rodgers and the Recruitment head are also on the same wavelength – because the faithful are absolutely correct!

The two main links media have made with said skill set, are Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, as well as Barcelona’s Francisco Trincao. McNeil plies his trade on the left-wing with outswinging crosses aplenty, along with having excellent shooting boots.

While Trincao plays predominantly on the right-side; he’s inverted and cuts in regularly, although he can play left too. The Clarets’ starlet also has been seen on the opposite flank, yet without the same impact. Whilst the Barca president emphatically stated that his asset is not for sale, Burnley’s Sean Dyche suggested his players can leave for the right price.

Leicester City Twitter rumours are just that

It’s not just the England Under-21 star that the Foxes are said to be interested in from Lancashire, James Tarkowski is also an apparent target. Though the defender’s supposed £50 million price-tag will deter pretty much any club in the world. In other words, I don’t think Tarkowski is worth that staggering amount.

Unfortunately that figure has also been banded around with respect to McNeil; he is a truly brilliant prospect at age-20 so eventually his fee may be that rich. At the moment, it would be superb business for Leicester to secure his services for £30m, or slightly higher.
