According to transfer expert Duncan Castles, Leicester City’s on pitch captain and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel will leave if the right offer is made.

Unless you’ve been otherwise engaged over the last week, you’ll have heard some fairly outlandish Leicester City transfer rumours: one star and a starlet from Spanish giants Barcelona linked with the Foxes; along with Kasper Schmeichel wanted by Chelsea and Manchester United.

Then there is the more believable hearsay like Leicester moving for Brentford’s Said Benrahma or Bournemouth’s David Brooks. Now that Watford have reportedly named their price for highly-rated winger Ismaila Sarr, the East Midlanders should seriously consider pouncing for the Senegal international.

Elsewhere City are thought to be searching for a new centre-back – amongst talk of Caglar Soyuncu apparently being wanted by Barca – even though Filip Benkovic will rejoin his Leicester team-mates. In fact, much of the Blue Army are extremely keen to witness the Croatian defender be given a substantial chance in the senior side.

Leicester City goalkeeper may move

A third role will most likely have to be filled if Schmeichel does eventually depart: Foxes of Leicester feels that neither Danny Ward nor Eldin Jakupovic are of the quality to potentially replace the Dane.

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, footballer relocation expert Duncan Castles said that the perception that Schmeichel desires to finish his career on Filbert Way is inaccurate. If the club were content with a bid, the ‘keeper would be ‘interested in moving‘ to the right team, claims Castles.
