Breaking: Some Leicester fans permitted in stadium for Europa League
With coronavirus completely ending supporters’ attendance at football matches, this Leicester City news will be happily welcomed.
What amazing news for all football supporters that the gates will be opening and turnstiles functioning once more, all for the wonder that is competitive football. It’s been months since fans got to watch their clubs live – Brighton & Hove Albion versus Chelsea’s friendly was piloted in England – and now Leicester City have announced that the faithful will be allowed back into King Power Stadium.
On Thursday the East Midlands side announced on their website, www.lcfc.com, that Leicester fans would be permitted entry into the home ground for the three definite Europa League clashes. A quick side note: the draw is penciled in for October.
Furthermore, currently only Season Ticket Holders and Fox Members will have access to seats for the European matches. Naturally stadia are not allowed full capacity at the moment, but at least KPS won’t be empty.
Additionally, the press release stated that a deadline is in place to renew Season Tickets: 5pm on Tuesday 8 September. While their Fox Memberships for the new season are still available.
Leicester meet Blackburn Rovers at home in the Foxes‘ final pre-season warm up event, on Saturday at 1pm BST. That game follows the international period. In the two previous practice encounters that Brendan Rodgers’ side has undertaken prior to 2020/21 beginning, a weakened side beat Birmingham City and subsequently drew with Sheffield Wednesday. The Blue Army won’t be in the ground for the upcoming uncompetitive contest.
