Will Leicester City sign another Algerian? Islam Slimani, Rachid Ghezzal and Riyad Mahrez’s international team-mate Adam Ounas is on the radar.

A versatile left-footed attacking midfielder who can play on the right-wing and scores goals, you say? Yep, Leicester City should consider signing Adam Ounas from Italian outfit, Napoli.

That is Foxes of Leicester’s initial opinion on the latest transfer rumour regarding the East Midlands side. €10 million will apparently secure the 23 year old, who has supposedly been offered improved wages by the Foxes.

Ounas is currently out-of-favour in Naples and spent last season on loan at French club Nice. Whilst in France, the Algeria man showed again why he is a decent prospect for a Premier League team to take a lower priced risk on. He supplied six goal involvements in 16 Ligue 1 outings.

When winning the African Cup of Nations, the forward-thinking player managed three finishes and one assist in three appearances.

Should Leicester City sign Adam Ounas?

Statistics aside, it is clear that Ounas is a good athlete; although there is obviously a chance of buying another Rachid Ghezzal. Whereas it didn’t work out for Ghezzal at as a Fox, he has done some good work with Fiorentina in Italy.

Maybe the former will return for Brendan Rodgers, unless his past loan side sign him permanently. Selling Ghezzal and signing a winger is probably Leicester’s best option. I have to admit, I’d prefer Bournemouth’s David Brooks as opposed to Ounas. With regards to realistic switches, anyway.

Will it be a winning start to Leicester’s 2020/21 campaign? Possibly. Yet the tougher test will come after the Premier League opener; especially when the Europa League begins in October. However, the King Power club will hopefully have star man Ricardo Pereira back by then. The return of the superbly talented Portuguese right-back is desperately needed on Filbert Way.
