Leicester may finalise Wesley Fofana deal after huge twist
Former Leicester City boss Claude Puel, who is currently Head Coach of French outfit Saint-Etienne, may be losing his star defender.
First of all there was merely speculation about the supposed interest from Leicester City in Saint-Etienne’s Wesley Fofana. Subsequently there was hearsay that the French club were tempted but resistant to a sale.
Claude Puel – St. Etienne Head Coach, along with being an ex-Leicester boss – was publicly reluctant to sell. Puel is a forthright man with little social or interaction grace, so the fact that he is consumed by a Napoleonic-esque dislike or bitterness towards the Foxes is no surprise. His stance does not bother Foxes supporters whatsoever.
Unfortunately for the French gaffer, he can only lobby his president to keep Fofana; though according to reports, if an offer meets les Verts’ valuation, they will sell.
Huge twist in Leicester City’s defender chase
Apparently St. E are now willing to sell Fofana, as long as they can loan him back to France for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.
Unfortunately for the East Midlanders, Premier League rivals West Ham United are also chasing Fofana. Therefore Leicester will have to act fast and decisively to secure their man.
In further King Power news, boss Brendan Rodgers, embodying his usual relentless optimism, claims that he was encouraged by his side’s attitude in their defeat versus Arsenal. Of course, many fans were unimpressed with the result and attacking performance. Yet, in this case, the Northern Irishman isn’t too transparent with his glass half full response.
