Leicester defender’s injury may see him sidelined until 2021
Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu has sustained an injury that will see him sidelined possibly until 2021, according to Brendan Rodgers.
Where should we start with regard to Leicester City’s latest unfortunate – or more accurately, idealess – loss at home? That’s easy: why didn’t Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers bring on a potent winger when we needed one especially on the right, and Cengiz Under is sitting in the substitute’s stand? Sadly, Foxes of Leicester cannot answer that question.
For example, we at FoL all presumed Papy Mendy was badly fatigued for him to be withdrawn. Yet the Northern Irishman said the decision to replace the Frenchman with Hamza Choudhury was tactical. When the team has already used two subs and Under therefore won’t be permitted to join a side currently rather devoid of invention.
Peculiar. And Inexplicable; unless Rodgers actually forgot he’d made a pair of switches already?! Obviously I doubt that, but many tactical choices are becoming more and more unexplainable. However, he’s the gaffer and I’m just a lowly football analyst blogging – so what do I know?!
Caglar Soyuncu injured for three months
Something Rodgers and I can agree on is that the King Power outfit are going to desperately miss Caglar Soyuncu. The Turkish centre-back has been ruled out possibly until we’re into the new year by his boss:
"“The muscle is right off the bone so he could be out for three months which is an absolute shame for him and a big miss for us.”"
Leicester’s next match is on Thursday at the KP in the Europa League versus FC Zorya Luhansk, who will travel from Ukraine to play the Foxes. Subsequently it’s Arsenal away at Emirates Stadium in the league, again the domestic contest will be played on Sunday evening.
