Ahead of the titanic clash between Manchester City and Liverpool this Sunday, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp both had their say on the title race and mentioned Leicester City as a rival.

Despite the Premier League season only being seven games old, every football fan is having their say on the title race, with many believing it is a two-horse race between Manchester City and Liverpool, increasing the importance of this week’s match.

The two sides have locked horns for the last three seasons now, with none of the other 18 teams coming close to competing. However, this season has certainly had it’s ups and downs with Liverpool losing 7-2 to Aston Villa, but they still set the benchmark along with the blue half of Manchester.

Jurgen Klopp was quizzed about a two horse race for the title, something he doesn’t agree with. Subsequently he listed Leicester as likely candidates, per Leicestershire Live.

"“All teams have the same chance and it’s about fighting as a team how lucky you are with injuries, etc,” he said. “A ‘two-horse race’ is a phrase I’ve never thought about.“Arsenal, Leicester, Spurs, Everton, unfortunately, they are all really good. It’s always the same.“We all fight for the Champions League spots and when you are close to that you can be champions. It’s always the same. I’m not sure who will be the ‘top horse’ this season.”"

Brendan Rodgers side lie third, one point off Liverpool and Southampton after having a brilliant start to the season. The Foxes have won five out of seven, their best top flight start, with one of those victories against Pep Guardiola.

The Man City boss also highlighted Leicester City as strong contenders, with a cluster of fighting it out due to nature of this season thanks to the COVID-19 outbreak.

"“(Liverpool) are the biggest favourite but with the pandemic, the situation is a bit different,” Guardiola said.“I see other teams are strong, Leicester maintained the level from most of last season, Arsenal made a big step forward to be contenders and Tottenham, Mourinho has the team what he wants.“I think this season there will be a lot of teams being there the last five to 10 games to fight for the title. Hopefully, we can be there and arrive at the end with a chance to fight for the title.”"
