Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City will be a real test for champions Liverpool when the two sides meet on Sunday.

In reality, Ian Wright is not be the only pundit, supporter or current player who thinks Leicester City can go to Liverpool and cause the champions problems. No. This is mainly because the entire Reds defence may be unavailable for Sunday’s important clash between the two teams.

Well, actually, Scottish left-back Andy Robertson could feature for his country on Wednesday evening versus Israel. Obviously that would deem the defender fit for the Premier League game this weekend.

With these facts known, a prediction of Liverpool as easy winners would be shortsighted. Very shortsighted. Even if both sides were at full strength, the Foxes can give Jurgen Klopp’s outfit a game. Brendan Rodgers‘ men may not quite be a match for them, but the gap has been closed slightly this season, evidently.

Ian Wright rates Leicester City, Brendan Rodgers

Wright, a celebrated former Arsenal striker who works for BBC Sport as a football expert, said this of Leicester’s crucial upcoming contest:

"“This is a real test for Liverpool, simply because of who is missing. They haven’t got any of their back-four playing.Later, Wright spoke of the Foxes boss:“Nobody can tell me that Brendan Rodgers does not think he’s got a chance of winning the league this year, with the team he’s got and the calibre of coach that he is.”More can be read at Metro"
